All individuals requesting training should immediately establish an iLab account if they do not already have one. Instructions (also in iLab notes) are below:
To register for an iLab account:
  1. Navigate to the core page: Https://ucsf.ilab.agilent.com/service_center/show_external/5307/wave_cryo_em_core
  2. In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen click ‘Sign In,’ and select to sign in using University of California San Francisco credentials.
  3. You will be directed to an authentication page where you will enter your UCSF credentials.
  4. Once you have entered your credentials, click the ‘Login’ button.
  5. You will be directed to an iLab Registration page where you will select your PI/Lab and verify your contact information.
  6. Once your registration has been submitted, your PI will receive a notification that you have requested membership to their lab in iLab.  They will need to approve your membership and assign any speedtypes for your use.
Make sure that you request access to the CryoEM Core specifically, which you will see as shown below once you have access to iLab:

When you request to join, please be sure to request access as a member of your PI's lab.  This will allow you to access the funding required to actually book time:

Microscopes are free to book whenever they are available in iLab, but if you need assistance or training, please check with David Bulkley, Glenn Gilbert  or Li Wang at least a week in advance to make sure they are available to help you.

Protocols and other instructions for using our microscopes are posted here: https://emcore.ucsf.edu/useful-protocols

For facility updates, we use discord, so please join our lab’s discord server here: https://discord.gg/pqGyYSPfDm.  Post a message in the introductions channel immediately and you will be added to the server.  If you don’t post, you’ll be automatically removed from the server after a little while.
